Olá
Eu realmente não percebo nada de Linux mas esforço-me.
No meu dual boot aparecem varias opçoes do Ubuntu. Deve ser de cada vez que é actualizado. Dá para eliminar essas opções? Há inconvinientes?

Se a última versão estiver a funcionar bem e não forem removidos com o comando:
sudo apt-get autoclean
Então podes eliminá-los usando o synaptic, mas não é de todo aconselhável.
O ideal, se te chateia, é alterar o /boot/grub/menu.lst (se tens 9.04 ou 9.10 e vieste de um upgrade) ou /boot/grub/grub.cfg no 9.10 (instalação de raíz)
Cuidado que podes estragar o grub com isso
Ok, não tinha reparado que tinhas dito que não percebias nada de Linux, coloca aqui o resultado deste comando:
cat /boot/grub/menu.lst
e se não tiveres esse ficheiro, mostra o resultado deste:
cat /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Que depois explico-te o que deves fazer exactamente.

Ok então,
Nota que estas alterações funcionam até à próxima actualização do kernel.
Se quiseres fazer algo mais definitivo, é um pouco mais complicado, mas podes ver em http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/grub-2.html#mozTocId584691
Que eu saiba, o SUM ainda não funciona bem como GUI para o GRUB 2, mas de qualquer das formas, fica aqui o link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1314914
Ok, então vais editar esse ficheiro escrevendo na consola:
$ gksu gedit /boot/grub/grub.cfg &
(Não escrevas o $, isso serve só para indicar que é um comando de consola)
Vai abrir o Gedit, depois de pedir a password do root.
Agora substituis o que lá por isto, que está entre ---SOF--- e ---EOF--- (não incluas estas linhas que contêm estes textos, são só para saberes onde começar e acabar a copiar)
